What is yoga?
Rise with the sun. Stretch. Drink plenty of
water. Breath deeply. Meditate. Live. Love. Laugh. All this is yoga. It
is a way of life, an attitude. Sanskrit dictionaries and yoga books
will tell you that the word "yoga" is derived from the sanskrit word
"yuj" which means "to unite". Common sense will tell you to try simple
things through the day to make you feel well.
Ultimately, yoga
is about feeling well, feeling good and loving who you are. It is about
feeling good in your own skin and seeking out the things in life that
you love. About listening to the subtle sounds in your own heart and
knowing that the Truth resides there. About finding joy in simple
things and enjoying a cup of tea as easily as a walk in the mountains.

What we teach @ Bindumandala
In our yoga room, we teach asana, pranayama and yoga nidra, prenatal yoga and post natal wellness and recovery
What is asana?
Asana
means "posture". a series of postures comprises a comprehensive asana
practice. From simple stretching to a more serious practice integrating
the spiritual and therapeutic aspects, the practice of asana has
benefits on multiple dimensions. It address the complex nature of the
human body and works with the subtle layers of the being by using a
unique blend of movement and breath. It is dynamic and static at the
same time and one can emphasize either aspect based on intuition or the
need of the moment.
What is pranayama?
Pranayama is a method
by which we manipulate the breath to increase subtle cosmic energy
within the body otherwise also known as "prana" or "chi". Pranayama
also ranges from simple to complex and one can practice it just to feel
well on a daily basis or to address health problems or even to go
deeper into the self and delve into and access the unlimited potential
of the soul.
What is Yoga Nidra?
Yoga Nidra is a technique of
deep relaxation and psychic sleep, where the body is resting and the
mind is fully awake and alert. The practioner is taken through a
detailed body awareness trip in order to relax the body and
subsequently the mind is also relaxed through creative visualisations
and affirmations. Awareness techniques and breathing are used very
effectively to acheive this state of deep relaxation. Yoga nidra helps
cultivate awareness and equanimity. The practitioner becomes the
observer of the phenomenon of life.
